ABOUT DEBORAH SCHLESINGER CERAMIC ART

I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind clay artworks that are both functional and artistic. Through various forming methods, I incorporate a variety of clay bodies and glazes to bring my designs to life. My work is inspired by the beauty of nature and I strive to capture its organic design in my pieces.  Each of my unique pieces are either hand built, wheel thrown and altered which requires a considered anticipation and plan to minimize the many construction pitfalls inherently found in building something unique out of clay.  In addition to my previous passion for the mediums of painting and printmaking, I began devoting my art practice to clay in 2020, as it serves as both a meditative and contemplative medium. 

 

I live and have my studio in Laguna Beach with my husband Rob and our puppy Stanley.
